If you want to learn to wakeboard, then you have made a decision to start an activity that will keep you fit and healthy, get you outdoors in the fresh air, and give you an exhilarating sense of speed. At the same time it looks cool and makes for some fantastic photographs, but how do you go about learning?
Well fortunately, while there is a lot of room for improving your wakeboarding skills, it is initially fairly easy to pick up the basics when you learn to wakeboard compared to waterskiing. This is because the board is larger and more stable than wasterskis and that makes balancing easier. However, if you want to learn to wakeboard and are concerned you might not be able to balance, then you can practice on a range of similar devices such as a balance board, or even a skateboard. While they are slightly different, this will give you a good idea of how to balance on a board, and will teach you to correctly distribute your weight and keep low enough to give yourself more stability.
